Location: Multipurpose Room (3rd floor of the Nutter Center)
02:45 PM           Mascot Interviews
04:00 PM           Mascot Tryout Begins

Location: 236 Classroom (2nd floor of the Nutter Center)
05:30 PM           Teams Posted!!
05:45 PM           Spirit Unit Meeting Begins

Special Tip: The tryout will be performed in full costume. 

Emotions: Select two (2) emotions and act them out.

Game Day Situation: Select one (1) Game Day situation and act it out.

Impromptu Dance: Perform an impromptu dance to the song “Get Rowdy”

Fight Song: Perform the first four (4) eight-counts of the WSU Fight Song 

Original Skit
    ☐ Length of Skit: 90 Seconds
    ☐ Skit must be appropriate for family viewing.
    ☐ Music may be used and is strongly encouraged.
    ☐ Skit must contain 20 seconds of Dance.
    ☐ Skit must contain 20 seconds of Crowd-Leading.
    ☐ Skit must contain 20 seconds of Prop Utilization. NOTE: Live props (i.e. people) are not allowed.
    ☐ Skit should contain a theme, be well organized, be creative, and include character traits.
    NOTE: Veteran mascots will provide assistance with the original skit.

Personal Interview:  5-10 minute interview conducted by the Athletic Department Administration, WSU Cheer/Dance Alumni and Coaching Staff

Clinics and Tryout Dress Attire:
    ☐ Clinics: T-shirts, Shorts, Gym Shoes
    ☐ Tryouts: Several T-shirts and Shorts, Gym Shoes, Towel, High Socks, Water Bottle
    ☐ NO Piercing of Any Kind!!

Special Note:
Being Rowdy Raider is a major commitment of your non-academic time.  If you need to work a job of more than 20 hours per week, strongly consider whether you can MULTI-TASK and PRIORITIZE. After academics, this program must come next on your list of priorities!
