The Raider Cheerleaders earned a 3rd place ranking in Rally Day competition from a field of cheer teams that consisted of Division I-A, Division I and Division II teams of over 800 participants. The Cheerleaders used a variety of signs, megaphones, poms and flags to wow the crowd and the instructors. The cheerleaders also earned blue “superior” ribbons for both Game Day and Rally Day evaluations. By putting on such a terrific performance the Raider Cheerleaders earned a bronze bid worth $2000 for the 2010 Collegiate Cheerleading National Championship to be held in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The Emerald Jazz dance team earned 3rd place honors for Division 1 Dance out of 7 Division I teams. Six dancers were nominated as All American candidates and Alex Haley received All American honors. The team dazzled the instructors to receive a blue” superior” ribbon and earn a bronze bid worth $1750 for the 2010 Collegiate Dance National Championship to be held in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Our very own Rowdy Raider received “superior” ratings and earned All American honors.
These accomplishments carry on the winning tradition of the Cheer, Dance and Mascot programs.
